Halibut Fishing and catching an Atlantic Halibut is on every north east ground fisherman's bucket list. In recent years these giant flat fish have made a comeback and we can now target them on our Iron Man Deep Sea Fishing Trips to Fippennies Ledge.
These fish can grow to several hundred pounds but at this time fish in the 50lb pound range are fairly common. Halibut must be 41 inches to keep and there is a 1 fish per boat per day possession limit.

65 NM east of Gloucester lies Fippennies Ledge. It is closed to commercial fishing and the fishing is like the "old days". It is one of the few places where Atlantic Halibut are caught routinely. Check out this video.
